Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó on campus Wi-Fi has changed so that only Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó managed laptops are now able to access internal Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó services such as the H: or P: drives or printing.
If you connect to Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó’s on campus Wi-Fi using a Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó phone or tablet or a personal device such as a phone, tablet, or laptop you will be able to access the internet but not any internal Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó services such as your H: or P: drive. To print from a personal device please use the email to print service, and for access to other internal Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó services please use a Horizon virtual desktop or a Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó managed computer.Â
This change is part of our ongoing security improvements to protect Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó data and yours. We anticipate that most people using their own personal device connected to Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó Wi-Fi will see no change in usage.
What does this mean for me?
Please check the table below to see what access your device will have:
Device type | Internet access | Internal Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó services access e.g. H: drive, P: drive, printing |

For example, if you are using a personal device on campus, your access to Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó services will now be the same as it is when you use your personal device at home using your home Wi-Fi. You will still have access to apps such as Teams, Office365, Brightspace, Horizon, ProGRess, Timetables, and myHub/eVision that are accessible when outside of Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó.
If you have a Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó provided MacBook please ensure you , if this isn’t done the device will only have internet access when connected to Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó campus Wi-Fi.
