Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó have recently registered for the Brit 2021 Challenge and are planning on completing the challenge from 10-16 May to coincide with Mental Health Awareness Week. The theme for this week is nature to encourage everyone to try and get outdoors to improve their mental health.Â
The British Inspiration Trust (BRIT) charity supports the mental health and wellbeing of young adults aged 16-25 through their annual mental health and fitness fundraising challenges – you may have seen some of our students and colleagues participating in one of their events last year, the Row Britannia Challenge.
This year the charity have introduced the BRIT 2021 Challenge - a 2,021 mile team challenge and fundraiser and we would love for you all to be involved.
What do you need to do to take part?
In order for Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó to reach its goal of 2021 miles, SportÖ÷²¥ÓÕ»ó would like to get all students and staff joining the team by contributing 2.21 miles in anyway they wish. No fundraising is required to take part in the challenge but if teams or individuals would like to raise money for the cause please visit the .
All you need to do is the following:
- Get active outdoors between Monday 10 May and Sunday 16 May (walk, run, cycle paddle, swim – or how about a dog walk, beach clean or Beryl bike ride?)
- Log any miles you complete individually using the following link: Â from Monday
- Shout about it on social media – tag @SportÖ÷²¥ÓÕ»ó and @brit_challenge to show us how you’re reaching your miles so we can share your success and inspire others!
By coinciding with Mental Health Awareness Week this is a great opportunity for everyone at Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó to spend some time outdoors and reflect on their own mental health and give your mind some time to recuperate. Fingers crossed for a week of sunshine that allows us all to get out and about!
