Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó students are being supported through the current international pandemic, thanks to over £50,000 of funding from Santander.
The bank has set aside £4.5million to support students in the UK at its 85 partner universities, with Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó’s funding aiding in the creation of a Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó and Santander Covid-19 Support Fund.
Santander and Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó have been partnered together for a number of years, supporting students with additional support funds to aid in student learning.
Matt Hutnell, Director, Santander Universities, said: “Santander is committed to supporting higher education as well as local communities across the UK so we’re pleased that our funding is able to be redirected to where it is most needed at this critical time. Universities are doing some fantastic work to contribute to the UK’s effort to combat the outbreak of COVID-19, so we’re delighted to collaborate with our university partners in a way which increases their response effort and look forward to continuing to work with them on supporting both students and the broader higher education community with further initiatives over the coming months.â€
Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó Operations Manager Kerry Noble said: “We have an excellent relationship with Santander and are so grateful for their support of our students. Of course, the Covid-19 outbreak has brought challenges for students and this extra funding allows us to ensure access to funding for any student who is experiencing difficulty as a result.â€
