At this year’s BH Star Awards Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó (Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó) was nominated for the Education and Learning Experience Awards, winning Silver for education and semi-finalist for Learning Experience. The education award celebrates students and those who train them. This award recognises excellence in students work, their study options, mentoring and what successes they have achieved as well as what has been made available to them.
This award particularly focuses on the suite of 26 professional development courses for the tourism and hospitality industry to support managers in their operational and strategic thinking. They bring the tools and techniques to help grow businesses. Students learn how to develop potential and competitiveness through managing staff, developing products and services, understanding customers and using digital marketing.
The courses are delivered through interactive workshops and networking with leading academics and students and support managers to develop contemporary knowledge of critical business aspects that influence their profitability and performance. Through these courses, the department has a real impact on local businesses.
Crispin Farbrother, Senior Lecturer in Hospitality Management commented on the success: “The department of Tourism and Hospitality were really pleased to be recognised, through the BH Star Awards, of the work it does with local, regional and national organisations within the vibrant tourism and hospitality industry!â€
