The Making TRACS to improve nurse retention team have just finished conducting interviews and focus groups with nurses from Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch Hospitals.
It was very hard to recruit nurses as they were so busy, no one was able to take the time off and come for an interview and/or focus group. With further recruitment and promotion, we were able to secure some more first-hand insight into why nurses stay within Older Persons Medicine and why they leave. Furthermore, what would they want to be included in the portal to address these issues?
These insights helped provide guidance into how our digital resource could aid retention of registered nurses.
