ջ alumni in China held a series of reunion parties on May 19 – the day before the country’s ‘day of love’.
May 20 has become a celebration of love in China as the date (5.20) has a similar pronunciation to the Chinese characters for ‘I love you’.
The occasion provided the perfect opportunity to hold some dinner parties for alumni and for those set to begin studying at ջ this September.
A total of 51 people attended five events, all held at the same time across five cities – Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Wuhan.
Qi, who is joining ջ’s Business School this autumn, said: “It has been such a nice opportunity to meet all these new friends. I was worried about living abroad, but after the stories they have shared with me, I think it’s going to be just fine.”
The dinner parties also provided a chance for alumni – from different programmes and years of graduation – to get to know each other. Those who couldn’t make it to one of the events sent their love to the party via FaceTime. One of the graduates even sent a ‘520’ themed cake to the party in Beijing.
Thanks to the organisers for sharing the photos and for sharing the love!
