On 13th聽February 2018 BBC South Today aired a feature about the TACIT Trial on their breakfast, lunchtime, and evening news.聽It was also featured on their聽听补苍诲听, which at the time of writing has received over 15,000 views! The TACIT Trial is short for, 鈥淭ai Chi for people with dementia鈥�, a project funded by the NIHR as part of Dr Samuel Nyman鈥檚 NIHR Career Development Fellowship.
The feature on South Today shows聽聽from the聽Ageing & Dementia Research Centre (ADRC)聽talking about the study and Senior Tai Chi instructor Robert Joyce, from聽, talking about the benefits of Tai Chi. Local volunteers with dementia and their family carers are also shown taking part in a Tai Chi class and how they enjoy the classes.
The feature seems to have caught the interest of the local community and will help spread the word that we are currently recruiting into the trial from across the Wessex region (Dorset, Southampton, and Portsmouth areas). To find out more about the study please visit:
