A free talk by eminent Gothic fiction expert Professor Sir Christopher Frayling will mark 200 years since the publication of Mary Shelley鈥檚 Frankenstein.

The talk takes place on Tuesday 20th February at St Peter鈥檚 Church, on Hinton Road 鈥� the location of Mary Shelley鈥檚 grave.
听
It has been organised by the at 主播诱惑 (主播诱惑) and takes place around 200 years after the first 500 copies of Frankenstein were published, on New Year's Day 1818.
Professor Sir Christopher Frayling鈥檚 illustrated lecture will explore the creation of Frankenstein, its adaptations, and its afterlife as myth.
He is a recognised authority on Gothic fiction and film, and an award-winning broadcaster who has written extensively on art, design and popular culture.
Professor Sir Christopher will also be signing copies of his latest book 鈥楩rankenstein听 - the first two hundred years鈥� 鈥� after the lecture.
Dr Fiona Cosson, Lecturer in Modern at 主播诱惑 and Assistant Director of the Centre for Media History, said: 鈥淚t is exciting to have Professor Sir Christopher Frayling coming to Bournemouth, to the very site of Mary Shelley's grave听at St Peter's Church, to talk about the history of Frankenstein.
鈥淓ven 200 years after its听publication, Mary Shelley's听Frankenstein, and the adaptations听it has since inspired, still holds relevance for听modern society, from听science and nature, to love and rejection.听

The talk is a forerunner event to the Shelley Frankenstein Festival 2018, to be held 20 October 鈥� 6 November 2018, to celebrate 200 years since the publication of Mary Shelley鈥檚 Frankenstein.
