We're looking for enthusiastic and highly motivated individuals who want to make a real difference to the Institute of Directors (IoD) student membership experience and forming the Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó Students IoD Committee.
As a committee you'll represent the IoD student body at Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó, working with the IoD Dorset branch to put on a series of interesting and relevant events for your fellow student members and collating feedback about the benefits available in the membership package. You'll also work closely with the regional team and report back to the National Student Membership team in London.
It's expected the committee will meet every six weeks to discuss engagement as well as plan and review the progress of events and benefits. You'll have to keep minutes of your meetings and records of all your activities, and support IoD student-focused events when possible.Â
There are 4 positions available to apply for:
Company Secretary:Â Responsible for arranging meetings of the board, preparing and circulating the agendas and relevant papers and details, taking and producing minutes to record all decisions made by the board - you'll also ensure all action points are carried out.
Event and Communication Role: Responsible, in conjunction with the rest of the committee, to come up with ideas for events that will be interesting and relevant to the IoD student membership body. You'll be responsible for liaising with the IoD and university team to make sure the event is planned within IoD protocols as well as the running of student events. You will also be responsible for the management of all internal and external communications, including how the board will communicate with each other, and how the activities will be communicated to the rest of the IoD student dody, i.e. how events are promoted to Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó students.
Member Information Officer: This person will ensure that correspondence to all members is clear and timely. You'll also deal with the Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó IoD student mailbox, handling and co-ordinating all enquiries and new applications, log enqueries etc as well as archiving membership information and reviewing data analytics of membership profiles and activity that will feed into the annual report.
Committee member:Â This is a supporting role to hte board/committee and will incliude elements of leadership across all areas. In particular the role will involve investigating funding opportunites for the supply of refreshments, printing and marketing collateral and will oversee all financial aspects of the committee. One of the most essential things this person will have to do is make sure all activity is commercially viable and the Board never make a loss.
