This includes supporting 100% of eligible staff in achieving Higher Education Academy (HEA) Fellowship status or holding a recognised HE teaching qualification. The Centre for Excellence in Learning (CEL) is the driving force behind making that aim a reality through a range of development opportunities.
Professor Gail Thomas, Head of CEL said: 鈥淐EL has come up with different ways to support this stretching but highly important target. There are opportunities for all staff, including a new unit for Professors and Associate Professors.
鈥淐olleagues who take part in these CEL schemes all give us very positive feedback about how the experience has helped them to develop as educators. CEL can have a no more significant role than to stimulate, enthuse and inspire academics, helping them to feel more confident and well prepared to deliver high quality teaching.鈥�

An internal scheme for experienced educators that enables accreditation by the HEA at Associate, Fellow, Senior and Principal levels
This three day 鈥榠ntroduction to teaching course鈥� is for postgraduate research students who will teach alongside doing their doctoral research. This is followed by a 鈥榖oot camp鈥� to help participants to put together case studies for Associate Fellowship of HEA via Teach主播诱惑
This leads to a teaching qualification recognised by the HEA (Fellow level) or the Nursing and Midwifery Council
Leadership in HE CPD unit
New for 2016/17, this CPD unit will support Professors and Associate Professors in gaining Senior Fellowship of the HEA.
