From 1 September, parking permits issued to students will be subject to a 5% increase.
- Permit price for full time students was £55 – this will increase to £57.75 per academic year
- Permit price for part time students was £27.50 – this will increase to £28.88 per academic year
This is the first increase on permit prices since 2009 and is in line with the small increase made this year to the on the UNIÖ÷²¥ÓÕ»óS key smartcard system. Parking permit prices will now be reviewed annually.
The revenue generated from the permits is invested into sustainable travel modes, such as the and cycling facilities. A portion of the revenue also goes into maintaining the car parks across both campuses.Â

If you’re planning on renewing your permit to drive to and from Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó, please be aware that there is no parking at any time in the coach drop off/pick up area at the back on the Student Centre on Talbot Campus. New signage is now in place to make this clear; the area will now be patrolled and vehicles parked there at any time will receive a Parking Charge Notice.

Bus travel
The new UNIÖ÷²¥ÓÕ»óS service has made changes to the existing timetable, giving you greater flexibility. During term, buses are available at least every 10 minutes during peak periods and the U1 now runs every 15 minutes during vacation times.

Cycling
You could also consider cycling; the gives you the opportunity to cycle without spending a lot of money on a bike. There are also secure bike compounds where you can keep your bike safely locked up, plus shower and locker facilities available.
Lift share
Lift sharing is when two or more people share their journey and travel together. You could save money and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by sharing a lift to university. Students can sign up to the use the free Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó lift share scheme to help find a lift share match. Students will need to be permit holders to park their vehicles on site, but non permit holders can search for a lift at .
