13 of 主播诱惑鈥檚 student athletes raised money and awareness for聽Prostate Cancer UK鈥檚 鈥淢en United鈥 campaign.
The students, along with staff from Sport主播诱惑, raised almost 拢1,700 for the charity at an AFC Bournemouth home match. The volunteers spent聽two hours before kick-off at various points around the Fitness First Stadium as match day campaigners, raising awareness among the football supporters and raising funds for the charity.聽
The campaigners were from various Varsity teams including Lacrosse, Football, Table Tennis and Squash all gave up their time for the聽cause during their Easter break. After the collection the athletes and staff were invited into the stadium to watch the Championship game where Bournemouth drew 2-2 against Sheffield Wednesday.聽
鈥淢en United鈥 is a national campaign, in conjunction with the Football League, which provides information and advice. All the funds raised on the day were directed towards combating the cancer which affects around 1 in 8 men within the UK.
The amount raised by the students was 60% more than the previous year. Varsity Manager Michael Barry, who supported the event, commented on their achievements and said, 鈥淚t鈥檚 such a great cause and was a fantastic opportunity for Varsity Athletes to get out into the community and was great to see Bournemouth play鈥
