Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó participated in a programme of events to raise awareness of eating disorders.
Taking place nationally, and organised by Charity Beat (Beating Eating Disorders), Eating Disorders Awareness Week ran from Monday 23 to February to 1 March 2015.
Seen as a chance to increase understanding of eating disorders, challenge stereotypes and raise funds for Beat, Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó has backed the initiative with a week long programme of events held at the University’s Campuses.
With sessions covering a range of topics, from recognising, understanding and responding to eating disorders to current issues in the field, Ö÷²¥ÓÕ»ó’s programmes aim to educate people on how to manage disorders.
I*EAT Founder Jess Griffiths spoke about the local services available to provide supporters to sufferers, having set up the charity in Bournemouth after herself suffering throughout her teenage years.
The week is supported by partners including Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust, Equality and Diversity Service, I*EAT, the Psychology Department, Faculty of Science and Technology and the University Department of Mental Health.
